Iran's Judiciary spokesman Ali Reza Jamshidi accused on Tuesday Israel and the United States of plotting terror attacks in Iran, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

"The recently arrested terrorist group who intended to plant a bomb in Tajrish square last Sunday was led by Israel and the U.S. administration," Jamshidi was quoted as saying.

Jamshidi made the remarks in a weekly press conference here in Tehran on Tuesday.

On Sunday, Iran's security forces arrested a woman in northern Tehran for her involvement in several attempted bombings in the country's capital.

The woman, whose affiliation was not identified, was detained "while trying to leave a booby-trapped car in an uptown square ... on the northern edge of Tehran," said a report by satellite Press TV.

In April, Iran's Intelligence Minister Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejeie said Iran has arrested members of a terrorist network in Tehran who were linked to Israel.

The terrorists "linked to Zionist elements" were planning to carry out bombings in Tehran, Ejeie said, adding that they were intending to cause "disorder" and "insecurity" by launching successive explosions ahead of the presidential elections slated for June 12.
